Donald and Patricia George have owned
Towner Press since 1973. Since its founding in 1895
by William and Margaret Towner as Towner Printing, Towner
Press has always been a family-owned business.
The Georges purchased Towner Press from
William and Eldora Beard, who owned the company from
1959 until September 1973. The Beards bought the company
from Edward Herrmann, who owned it from 1948 to 1959.
Donald’s roots in printing run much
deeper than his 30-plus years of Towner Press ownership.
His father, Wellington Abbey “Red” George,
was a printer for 70 years, instilling in him the value
of hard work, integrity and ethical business practices.
Today, Pat serves as President, running the day-to-day operation, and son Mike George and daughter Heidi
George assist customers
as sales representatives. Although Donald has officially "retired," he still helps out whenever needed and often can be found delivering completed projects to customers. |
